Use the Deploying properties page to specify a method for deploying your MIDlet
suite files to another location on your system or on a remote network. When
you compile your project, the MIDlet suite's JAR file will automatically
be deployed according to the settings on this page.
You open this page by choosing File > <active project name>
Properties. Then select the Deploying node in the Category menu tree.
- If you are setting the properties for a project configuration other than
the default configuration (
DefaultConfiguration
), you must uncheck
the Use Values from "DefaultConfiguration" checkbox at the top of
the page to customize these options.
You can set the following options in this page:
- Select Deployment Method. Enables you to choose the one
of the following methods of deployment:
- Device Anywhere Deployment.

- File Copy.
Moves the MIDlet suite files to a specified location on a local system.
- File Transfer Protocol (FTP).
Uses the file transfer protocol to move the MIDlet suite files to a remote
server over the Internet.
- Nokia Mobile Devices.Transfers the MIDlet suite files to a Nokia Mobile device from the
IDE using Nokia's PC Suite.
- Ricoh Devices Transfers the MIDlet suite to a Ricoh device using HTTP POST or an Secure Digital card.
- Sony Ericsson Phone (locally attached
device). Transfers the MIDlet suite files to a Sony Ericsson phone.
- Web-based Distributed Authoring
and Versioning (WebDAV). Moves MIDlet suite files
using the WebDAV protocols, a set of extensions to the HTTP protocol which
allows you to work in collaboration with others to edit and manage files
on remote web servers.
- Windows Mobile Devices.Transfers the MIDlet suite files to a
Windows Mobile device from the IDE using ActiveSync and Sun's CLDC/MIDP Virtual Machine.
- Override JAR URL in JAD. Enables you to change the URL
for the JAR file from the default to a URL of your own choosing. For example:
