Add ActionForm Bean Dialog Box
See Also
An actionform bean acts as a bridge between a JSP page and a Struts action.
It captures user input from the JSP pages and delivers it to the action.
An actionform bean can also validate the input before passing it on to the action.
You use the Add ActionForm Bean dialog box to register an actionform bean in the struts-config.xml file.
You open the Add ActionForm Bean dialog box by right-clicking in a struts-config.xml file and
choosing Struts > Add ActionForm Bean.
In the Add ActionForm Bean dialog box, you set the following properties:
- ActionForm Bean Name. Specifies the actionform bean's name.
- Type.
- ActionForm Bean Class. Specifies that the actionform bean will take its properties from explicit methods defined in the class.
- Dynamic. Specifies that the actionform bean will take its properties from an external configuration file, such as
from the Struts configuration file.
- If you want to change a registered action form bean, you can do
so by manually editing the XML tags in the struts-config.xml file.
